It is a booking platform that makes it easy for travel agencies to build and share beautiful itineraries for African safaris and more. Their platform integrates with hundreds of suppliers across Africa, providing unparalleled access to availability and quoting capabilities. They wrap Those quotes into a beautiful client presentation complete with custom video itineraries which allow travelers to visualize their journey and enable travel agents to sell safaris with ease, from concept to completion.

As the business expands and they are looking to support more geographies and add new features. They are looking for a solid & awesome Staff Software Engineer to join the team and start contributing from day 1. They are a small team, moving fast, and we can't wait to get you on board and keep plowing ahead!

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and other engineers to develop high-quality software solutions
• Design, develop and maintain scalable and robust full-stack applications using JavaScript, Express, Node, Mongo stack, and React.
• Implement Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment pipelines and automate the software delivery process.
• Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker and other related technologies.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS, including EC2, RDS, and S3, using Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Set up and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system health and performance.
• Design, implement and manage relational and document databases.
• Ensure software code quality and maintainability by writing unit tests, performing code reviews, and improving coding standards.
• Participate in team meetings, stand-ups, and sprint planning to deliver project milestones.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in software development.
• Expertise in the JavaScript, Express, Node, Mongo stack, and React for front-end development.
• Strong experience with Docker and containerization.
• Knowledge of AWS and Terraform, and experience in deploying and managing applications in the cloud.
• Experience with both relational and document databases.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Must be able to overlap core hours from 8am to 12pm Pacific Time.
